Plans are educational, not engineered
Every plan on this site is published for educational purposes. Although our plans use IRC light-frame conventions and standard dimensional lumber sizes, they are not engineered for a specific site, soil class, snow load, wind zone, or seismic category. Always confirm requirements with your local building department before construction. For any structure attached to a habitable building, or any structure exceeding the size limits in your jurisdiction's accessory-structure exemption, you may need a permit and stamped engineering.
Build at your own risk
Carpentry involves saws, ladders, heavy lumber, and concrete. We assume no liability for injuries, property damage, or code violations resulting from the use of any plan. If you are not confident in any step, hire a licensed contractor.

Plans are published under a Creative Commons attribution license. You may print, copy, redistribute, and adapt any plan, including for commercial use, with attribution to Pergola Planner.
